Weekend Getaway: Bretagne
One of the many perks of living in France is the easiness of hoping on a train for a weekend getaway! This past weekend P and I headed to the Bretagne (Brittany) region of France, which is located in the northwest part of the country. We started our weekend in the city of Rennes which was just over a 2 hour ride by train. I had been to Rennes once before and had forgotten how colorful the city was! There were pops of color everywhere. The city has many many students and has a bohemian vibe to it!
Our first stop was to devour some galettes (savory crepes) and cider! This is the specialty of the region and the buckwheat flour used to make the galette is SOOOOO tasty! My go galette is: Egg, ham, cheese, spinach and crème fraiche! SO GOOD!
Saturday we headed out to the countryside where P's family lives. There's nothing quite like wide open spaces to clear your mind! We headed to the beach for a picnic and did some adventuring!
Oh how I've missed wide open spaces and the sea!
I brought back some little treasures as well as fun memories.
We always have such a great time in Brittany! It was a beautiful weekend filled with lots of yummy food, family, sunshine, sea and lots of laughs!
I'm back in Paris now feeling recharged for the week! Happy Monday all!

Jessi
