Supplies List - 12/14/2024
Setting up your painting area:
Clean and flat area to paint
Water to clean brushes
Cloth or paper towels to dry brushes
Piece of plain paper and pen or pencil
Glass cleaner & microfiber cloth/ paper towel to clean glass
Optional - Hair dryer for quicker drying
Glass Frame
I recommend purchasing your frames as soon-as-possible to ensure they’ll arrive in time. If your small frames don’t arrive in time, I’ve provided some options below that will still allow you to learn the technique during the class. You may use any shape or size of frame. The goal is to make sure you’re using a frame that you can see all the way through on both sides, like the options below.
Paint Brushes*
I recommend grabbing a small detail round brush. Size: 8. To be safe, grab an assortment of round brush sizes you may have on hand!
*I’ll be painting on a small 6”x8” frame. The brush sizes above reflect that. If you are painting on a larger surface, just make sure you have a small enough round brush that allows you to paint in detail on whatever size frame you’re painting on.
Acrylic Paint
For this class, I’m going to give you the option to use either regular acrylic or heavy body acrylic.
Acrylic Paint Option 1 - Basic Paint
I’ll personally be using paint option 2 (below) which are Heavy Body Paints. They are pricier than the basic paint we usually use. You can absolutely use Basics paint for glass painting if you wish. You may use any brand of acrylics of your choosing for this paint session, but I recommend Liquitex. Feel free to select any specific colors that you want in your piece.
Colors
Titanium White
Fluorescent Pink
Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue
Magenta Quinacridone
Turquoise (Phthalo)
Prussian Blue or any deep blue or deep purple
Optional - If you’re going for a certain color palette don’t hesitate to grab any extra colors that you may need.
Acrylic Paint Option 2 - Heavy Body Paint
I will be painting with a mix of Golden Paints and Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics. Heavy body is a more premium paint and is what I LOVE to use when painting on glass as I end up using much less of it than I do the basic paint. Heavy Body paint is a professional grade paint, so it’s more expensive than basic paint. I’ll be using Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics during.

Metallic Paint Pens
There are many many brands carrying metallic paint pens, the ones below just happen to be my current favorite!
Posca Pens
I’ll be using White (Fine tip, size 0.9mm-1.3mm) & Green (bullet shaped, size 1.3mm). Feel free to pick up any colors you’d like.
